In Brazil, the Greater Rio de Janeiro metropolitan area stretches across 22 contiguous municipalities, host 13.01 million inhabitants, making it the third largest metropolitan mega region in the Americas.

CITYDATA curates daily mobility patterns for approximately 6.89 million devices in the Greater Rio metro. September tends to be the preferred month for baselining mobility data. To that end, we have computed the mobility trip hops for the Greater Rio metro for the month of September.  The video at the below link shows the mobility patterns for 5000 devices and 871083 trip hops, visualized with a time series animation.
